The role:

British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB) is the UK National Governing Body for Wheelchair Basketball and there has never been a more exciting time to join our sport.

The Digital Content Intern will be instrumental in driving forward the digital communications of British Wheelchair Basketball ensuring the NGB is at the forefront of social innovation. The role will be responsible for nurturing digital communications that inspire and engage new players to the sport, supports the engagement of existing members, celebrates the achievements of our National Leagues, and the shines a spotlight on the international success of our GB teams.

The priorities for the role include (further priorities listed in Job Description and Person Spec):

  • Responsible for content generation across a variety of digital platforms including web, email and social.
  • Design and create original sought after content via multiple visual formats for British Wheelchair Basketball.
  • Pro-actively drive engagement with all stakeholders, but primarily the 8-25 years old audience and their influencers.
  • Produce regular analytical reports outlining trends, successes and market insight of British Wheelchair Basketball’s digital communications.
  • Support British Wheelchair Basketball’s key strategic aim to increase participation in the Sport.
  • Ensure that all key events and campaigns are supported through digital communications.
  • Pro-actively seek out opportunities for British Wheelchair Basketball to engage and influence via social media to support the profile of the Sport.
  • Monitor the digital media channels supporting stakeholder content where it further promotes the sport.
  • To ensure that British Wheelchair Basketball is informed and leads best practice in the adoption of new technologies.
  • To inform/advise on the development of British Wheelchair Basketball’s social media strategy in consultation with the Operations Director and Marketing & Communications Officer.
  • To implement the key drivers of British Wheelchair Basketball’s Social Media Plan.
