British Taekwondo is the National Governing Body for the Martial Art & Olympic sport of Taekwondo in Great Britain, serving a 700 strong club network with a 18,000 membership across the United Kingdom. Our core business and small number of staff supports and regulates member club activity, events, competitions and teams across the Olympic combat sport, Poomsae (forms) and traditional Martial Art disciplines.

British Taekwondo works closely with and supports our expert led volunteer workforce departments who drive our policies and grow participation.

British Taekwondo also collaborates with GB Taekwondo, the high-performance arm responsible for Olympic sport & Paralympic sport programs.

About the post:

British Taekwondo is looking for a motivated individual to join our small operational team as Membership Services Officer. The role is key to providing first class customer service and maintaining a positive relationship with our members.

This varied and interesting membership support role will be the beating heart and centre of our club, coach and member facing service, managing day to day enquiries and processing data within our membership enrolment / renewal systems.

Reporting to our marketing manager and working with colleagues across the organisation, this role will also include team projects to support clubs more, grow our membership base and widen the appeal of Taekwondo to new audiences. The role also includes elements of marketing team support.

  • Contractual Status: Full time Contract.
  • Start date: 4th January 2023.

JOB PURPOSE & MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Marketing, Digital & Media Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of inbound and outbound membership services and day to day support of our marketing operation.

The primary responsibilities for this role will be to:

  • oversee the day-to-day administration of the Membership system (CRM membership database).
  • build relationships and support members as needed and be the main liaison contact for member enquiries.
  • ensure accuracy of data in the system and assist with improvements to the system.
  • conduct membership checks.
  • carry out event audit processes.
  • Conduct inbound and outbound membership activities as part of the overall customer journey.
  • assist with Coach registrations and administration of DBS application checks.
  • provide application support for global licences for athletes and officials (GAL/GOL).
  • be compliant with Data Protection and Privacy (legal and best practice) recommendations including GDPR.
  • handle data and personal information in a professional and confidential manner in compliance with policies and best practice.
  • support the day-to-day communications plan.
  • deliver any other membership, marketing or digital related activity that is required from time to time, contributing to the success of the business.

Required Knowledge

  • Experience in day-to-day membership systems and back-end systems management, including reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft IT packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Desirable Skills & Experience (not essential)
    • Some knowledge or experience of CRM systems.
    • Some knowledge or experience of website systems e.g. WordPress.
    • Some knowledge or experience of membership services in a sport.
