We are seeking an experienced and motivated Purchase Ledger Team Leader to join our finance team for a 12-month period. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with good management skills and a sound understanding of purchase ledger processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and deadlines.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage the purchase ledger processes and procedures
  • Oversee the processing of supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of supplier accounts to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to support their growth.

About You

  • Proven experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role,
  • Strong knowledge of purchase ledger processes and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software, with strong Excel skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to drive improvements.
