Role Purpose
The role will work within the Access and Environment Team and closely with the Digital Team to produce creative and engaging information for paddlers through the Go Paddling website via PaddlePoints and Paddle Trails.
The postholder will be responsible for the day to day management of content on the PaddlePoints website, improving the quality and consistency of user generated information as well as coordinating a network of volunteer moderators across England and the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for producing creative, high quality paddle trails and information on PaddlePoints that our members and wider community value highly.
- Publish new Paddle Trails for inland and coastal waters to suit a range of abilities, environments and craft, using insight from the Go Paddling website to identify priority places.
- Review and update existing paddle trail information, ensuring information is accurate, consistent and up to date.
- Ensure that all our trail and Paddlepoint content takes into account the information needs of all users, such as accessibility and presentation so as to encourage inclusion.
- Assist in the design, implementation and relaunch of Paddle Trails, which will be fully integrated with the PaddlePoints map and provide real time information for paddlers.
- Support a network of local volunteer moderators with training and advice as and when required.
- Work closely with the Head of Access and Environment, Marketing & Communications and Digital Teams to steer the development of the PaddlePoints website, continually enhancing functionality and user experience.
- Work with external partners to develop joint trails.
- Work with the communications team to create a programme of regular and seasonal themed campaigns to promote trails.
