The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and supportive team to drive a safer, more inclusive culture. The Safeguarding Manager will have a wide remit to lead safeguarding development and embedding throughout the organisation, overseeing and guiding the efficient and effective case management of safeguarding and disclosure checks and developing and maintaining up to date and robust safeguarding policies, procedures, resources and guidance.
The successful candidate will have extensive safeguarding experience and be able to demonstrate a child centred approach. You should be able to work as part of a team, be able to relate well, empathise and communicate with a wide range of people and drive and inspire change at all levels of the organisation.
Role Purpose
To lead safeguarding development and embedding throughout the organisation, including English clubs and centres and the disciplines of Paddlesports. To ensure efficient and effective case management of safeguarding and disclosure checks and provide support to the Director of Governance.

This role is based at the British Canoeing offices at National Water Sports Centre in the Holme Pierrepont Country Park. We are currently exploring how hybrid working can benefit the organisation so we would expect a minimum of 2 days in the office with flexibility around days being essential.
