The Role of Business Operations & Change Manager

The purpose of the Business Operations & Change Manager is to support Brentford FC’s ambition to thrive in the Premier League. This is a high-impact role with a macro view of the football club and direct interaction with the Club’s Executive Committee (ExCo).

The Business Operations & Change Manager will work closely with the Business Operations Director to ensure rigorous change management across the Club; identify and implement business process improvement opportunities; identify risks to enable calculated risk taking and coordinate the Club’s Strategic Plan and Executive Management agenda.

As this is a new position, there is scope for the successful candidate to further develop the role to add maximum impact to the organisation.

We firmly believe we work better when we are together and so this is a role that will be predominantly based on site at the office, training ground and stadium on some matchdays.

Main Accountabilities

  • Programme manage the Club’s key football and corporate change projects
  • Programme management, governance and reporting of the Club’s key change projects
  • Project management, capability development & training across the Club (best practice, tools, templates, reporting)
  • Be a trusted adviser to project Accountable Executives & Project Managers
  • Strategic Planning & Management
  • Work closely with the Business Operations Director and the Club’s ExCo members to manage reporting of progress against the Club’s Strategic Plan
  • Strategic Opportunities & Risk Management
  • Manage the Club’s Strategic Opportunities & Risk Register on behalf of the ExCo and the Board
  • Business Process Improvement
  • Collaborate with Heads of Department to support the identification and process mapping of key business processes and RACI models
  • ExCo Agenda Management & Reporting
  • Coordinate the ExCo strategic agenda
  • Design, build and manage the Club’s key KPI dashboards and reporting metrics in collaboration with ExCo members and Heads of Department
