JOB PURPOSE:
The Group Fitness instructor will be responsible for planning and providing a high standard of fitness instruction in different types of fitness classes to our customers at the Sports Complex with the aim of fulfilling our mission to be the most welcoming health and fitness club in Berkshire.
The main components of the role are: covering a variety of fitness classes as and when required, with a view of permanent classes in the future. Maintaining a high level of customer service is also an essential aspect of the role.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring that the highest levels of customer service and safety are achieved
- Be enthusiastic and inspiring
- Be passionate in promoting health and wellbeing to our customers
- Build positive relationships with customers to increase retention and customer satisfaction
- Have good timekeeping and excellent communication skills
- Be flexible in the classes they can cover
SKILLS:
- Be able to cover a variety of different classes
- Customer service
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication during lessons
- Arriving at least 10 minutes before a class is due to start
- Flexible and willing to cover various classes and times
- Have excellent physical fitness
QUALIFICATIONS:
A current Level 2 group exercise instructor qualification and relevant previous experience is essential, as well as up to date insurance.
EXPERIENCE:
- Working currently as a group fitness instructor
- Working within a customer-focused environment
- Working within the leisure industry
- Coaching any area of health or fitness
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Hard working and passionate
- Confident and good communicator
- Reliable with good timekeeping
