Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the delivery and execution of the Basketball ACT strategic and operational plans, financial stability, facility development, building the Association's business, and continued growth of the entire basketball community in the region.

As the public face of the organisation, the CEO will be a people focused leader with the ability to build and maintain relationships internally with our staff, Board and our substantial membership base, as well as externally with government and the wider community in order to support the growth of the sport.

As the CEO you will have a robust approach to governance, finance, risk management and government relations, with a firm grasp of accounting, human resource management, legal, marketing and organizational management. Our tight-knit team requires the CEO to be organisationally versatile and where required, being hands-on to ensure the smooth running of Basketball ACT’s operations.

About Basketball ACT

As one of the largest sporting organisations in the region, Basketball ACT is recognised by Basketball Australia and the ACT Government as the governing body for the sport of basketball in the ACT, and is responsible for the conduct of competitions, development, and performance programs throughout the Territory.

Basketball ACT boasts over 10,000 registered participants each year, ranging in age from 5 to 70 years involved in the wide range of competitions, learn to play, introductory and development programs as well as performance pathway programs delivered annually. With over 700 teams across junior and senior competitions, over two hundred referees and officials, as well as hundreds of volunteers, Basketball ACT is recognised as one of the largest basketball associations in Australia.

Basketball ACT owns and operates the Belconnen Basketball Stadium located at 42 Oatley Court Belconnen ACT which is planned for expansion in the near future; and operates out of a range of other externally owned facilities across Canberra.
