About the role

AusCycling is looking for an Event Coordinator to deliver our state-level sporting competition & events and to support South Australia's affiliated Cycling Clubs. As part of a network of AusCycling staff around the country, you will be responsible for the implementation of existing AusCycling-hosted events such as State Series races, State Championships, and other events across a range of disciplines.

About you

  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to confidently motivate, influence and build strong & positive stakeholder relationships.
  • You will have an exceptional work ethic including the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, be flexible, prioritise and meet competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • You have excellent computer skills, particularly in word processing, spreadsheets, database management and presentation skills.
  • You will have flexibility to be available out of normal working hours, where required, throughout the year for events and meetings with stakeholders.
  • You will hold a valid Working with Children Check, a valid First Aid certificate or have the ability to obtain these and be able to complete AusCycling’s No Doping Declaration.

Would also be great if you have…

  • An understanding or interest in elite and community sport.
  • Experience volunteering in a sporting club (especially a cycling club).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in business, project management or sport and recreation.

Working Environment

  • Based in the AusCycling SA office at the Adelaide Superdrome, Gepps Cross
  • Remote work and flexible working hours available
  • Availability outside normal working hours will be required for event delivery

AusCycling’s Sport Pillar oversees events and racing; coach and official education and accreditation programs; competition rules and athlete pathways program (pre-performance).

The Events team has responsibility for the planning, coordination, management and delivery of AusCycling events in SA.?This role aims to achieve key organisational objectives, contributing to an exceptional experience and services to members.?

Essential Requirements

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications highly desirable (Event Management or related field), or a commensurate level of event management experience.
