THE ROLE

A strategic, senior management role, taking responsibility for the account management of Official Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers.

Ascot has a hierarchy of brands that are Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers of the business. This role is to service the needs of these brands through the effective delivery of their contractual assets on a race day and beyond. This will involve working closely with various departments within the business to achieve seamless delivery.

Best in class client servicing and innovative activation ideas are needed to ensure the retention and potential uplift of the Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers. The role will be instrumental in helping set KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) for each client to ensure we are delivering on their (and our) objectives each year.

As well as the day-to-day management of sponsorship assets, this role will be instrumental in devising new and exciting assets to allow partners to activate alongside the Ascot brand and will have the responsibility of finding new technologies and services to allow Ascot to manage the brands effectively.

The role has management responsibility of a Partnerships Manager. It is important that this role act as an effective leader to encourage and train effectively to ensure they deliver best in class serving for our Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers. It is also important that all team members of staff are aware of new industry innovations as well as an in-depth knowledge of the brands we work with.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Partnerships in driving improvement of the products and services provided to partners and to support in the delivery of the department’s strategy. They will be required to build strong relationships with Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers as well as internal departments to ensure efficient and effective lines of communication.

The role itself is mainly office based, with raceday work a key part of the job, some of which fall on weekends. The raceday role involves liaising with high level personnel from Ascot and key Official Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers and delivering their assets and rights on site.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct, full-time management and leadership of a Partnerships Manager
  • To evolve and deliver the year-round rights of allocated Official Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers
  • To work with the Head of Partner Management to achieve annual KPI’s for the retention of brands at the end of the contract
  • To build strong relationships with the Official Partners, Sponsors and Suppliers ​at all levels
  • To proactively drive the sponsorship agenda ensuring constant dialogue and engagement
  • To inspire and assist our partners to create unique best in class activations
  • To be responsible for developing digital creative ideas to drive awareness and audience engagement
  • To continuously look for upsell opportunities across all aspects of Ascot’s portfolio
  • To lead the annual review and renewal process uplifting each cycle
  • To champion the value of partnerships across the business
  • Manage comprehensive reporting and sponsorship evaluation to ensure ROO and ROI
  • Work closely with Ascot departments to find and deliver added value for partners
  • Constantly monitor and track the performance of the rights delivery schedule
  • To be responsible for the organisation of events within the Partner engagement calendar
  • To manage any agencies employed to provide media and digital evaluations and insights

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of degree level of education
  • Extensive experience of Sponsorship and Sports Marketing
  • Strong activation experience working on high-profile partnerships
  • Demonstrable experience in managing team members
  • A strong communicator with excellent presentation skills
  • A creative thinker to assist in the delivery
  • Highly developed customer service skills
  • ​Demonstrable experience building excellent working relationships and dealing with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • High level understanding of marketing communications and being able to champion the Ascot brand use in partners marketing mix with global amplification
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Excellent administrative skills, budgetary and resource management
  • Excellent ICT skills, e.g., Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Working knowledge of databases and systems
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work and deliver under pressure
  • Results driven with a track record of delivering ROO and ROI for partners
  • Experience in commercial contracts involving rights negotiation and delivery
  • Experienced in developing and delivering against key sponsorship KPI's
  • Demonstrable understanding of sponsorship evaluation metrics
