About the role:

We are looking for Full-Stack PHP Developers to expand the capacity, knowledge and skillset of the existing Development Team. Currently responsible for developing numerous websites that support our Racing, Events and Hospitality businesses, alongside a suite of in-house developed web management tools to provide internal customers with the flexibility to tailor the content of their websites to meet their needs. Whilst following a CD/CI mindset to enhance those sites, we're also increasing the volume of systems integrations from a wide range of disparate on-premises and cloud-based applications in order to stream data into a “lake” from which various tools will be used to provide valuable sales and marketing insights for the Business.

The role requires full-stack development capability, with some initial bias towards API and Database development.

About you:

Key Skills

  • PHP 7 - Developing on an MVC framework, MVC frameworks are all very similar and a few are based on Symfony components.
  • Systems Integration - Development of a RESTful API to provide integrations between enterprise systems enabling interaction between data, applications & devices.
  • Javascript - Developing in TypeScript and compiling to standard Javascript, an understanding of web components would be an advantage.
  • HTML 5 For PHP - An understanding of templating engines would be an advantage, most PHP frameworks have a preferred templating engine.
  • HTML 5 for Javascript - An understanding of JSX for HTML rendering (part of the StencilJS compiler & many JS frameworks).
  • CSS - Understanding of the SASS CSS extension.
  • MySQL/MariaDB - Understanding of ERDs and the SQL language.
  • MySQL/MariaDB - Development of database solutions through the analysis and understanding of raw data and the creation of a physical data model.
  • Version control - We have a strict version control system using BitBucket as our repository.
  • Scrum - We work in an agile fashion and utilise JIRA for story and sprint management.
  • Helpdesk - We use JIRA service desk allowing us to track, resolve and integrate tasks into sprints where necessary.
  • Collaboration - We use Confluence to generate ideas and to manage our technical documentation.


  • A minimum of 3 years experience developing within a business SCRUM / Agile environment
  • Extensive experience with Systems Integrations, and API Development and SQL
  • Awareness of IT Security best practice
  • PHP and/or Javascript qualifications an advantage
