About the role:

The Finance Assistant will be assisting the financial controller in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions. Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities for the role will include

  • Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
  • Help oversee and manage individual accounts
  • Create, send, and follow up on invoices
  • Review and adhere to department budgets
  • Update and monitor monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Monthly bank reconciliation
  • Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
  • Assist the financial controller in creating financial reports on a regular basis
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.

Race Days:

  • To assist with finance management at race meetings.
  • Prepare tills, PDQ’s etc.
  • Ensure the ticketing system is running efficiently.
  • Raceday ticket reconciliations.
  • Revenue checks.
  • Process racing critical PO’s.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

The candidate must be motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic when working within a small team. AAT qualified is desirable but not essential.

Other

To comply with all Health and Safety procedures associated with the department at all times. This relates to:

  • Standards and procedures of correct working practices
  • The completion of risk assessments
  • COSHH regulations
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment

To control wastage and operate according to the Companies environment policy with regard to:

  • product control and waste minimisation
  • proper care and maintenance of equipment to prolong its life
  • using towels in appropriate quantity to minimise unnecessary laundering
  • proper separation and disposal of cardboard, paper and glass in recycling bins minimising energy wastage by switching off unused lights, heating, PCs and equipment


To be an ambassador for Bath Racecourse and the ARC group, taking personal responsibility for finding out about our product and services, and at all times striving to represent the Company in the most professional, courteous and efficient manner possible.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

About you...

You must be a motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic individual who is happy working amongst a small team. AAT qualified is desirable but not essential.
