Lead Coach for a growing and successful Ladies Section built on a strong pool of talented juniors.

ACHC is a vibrant, friendly and competitive club, with 500 juniors and 16 adult teams. The time is now right for us to have a Lead Coach for each of the playing sections and we will have a vacancy for the Ladies at the end of this season.

The club’s growth and management are built on a broad pool of committed and supportive volunteers. Our adult sections are very much integrated with the success of the juniors, many of whom progress to the top adult sides. We have some turnover each year as teenagers leave the area on finishing school and we address this mainly by ensuring that we have a continual strong pipeline of juniors. This is complemented by a pool of more senior players which we would also like to grow.

We have a fantastic pitch and clubhouse and in the medium term we are intending to apply for Talent Centre status, hopefully on the back of building a second pitch.

The Role

  • Lead Coach for Ladies section comprising 7 adult teams. Our Ladies 1’s play in the South Central League Premier 1, and our Ladies 2’s are on track for promotion to the league below that.
  • Reports to Ladies Club Captain and will work particularly closely with the L1/2 Captains and Head of Selection, and with the Lead Coach for the Junior Section.


  • Planning and running L1/2 training sessions pre-season and during the season (August to April).
  • Current Ladies Coach also covers L 3-5 which helps to identify and promote emerging talent.
  • Managing L1 at Saturday matches (and L2 where feasible).
  • Optional – run Coach the Coaches sessions with the other Lead Coaches – we have a strong team of assistant coaches and are keen to continue to develop them.
  • Note: Option for early involvement in L1 / 2 squad who will be participating in Wycombe summer league, with a focus on bringing new juniors through for next season

Pay – competitive, linked to coaching qualification and including Saturday travel time.

Person specification

  • Proven high quality coach with record of developing juniors and integrating into adult set-up.
  • Planner – thinks ahead to develop juniors for senior sides given predictable turnover of school leavers.
  • Energetic, positive, and nurturing, while still ambitious / visionary and challenging.

Looking for a long-term project and excited at the prospect of taking the Ladies Section forward.
