The Role:
We are recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic Lead Age Group coach. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking club who will support your personal development and give you ownership within your area of expertise.
The successful candidate should have experience and vision to lead. They will take responsibility for the Age Group squad however will be expected to work across other squads including the ‘Learn to Swim’ program.
Qualification / Requirements
- Minimum Swim Ireland (SI) Level 1 Coaching qualification or equivalent
- Intention of achieving Level 2 coaching qualification in 2022/23 season
- Minimum of 2 years coaching experience
- SI or Sports Ireland Safeguarding Level 1 certificate
- Valid (SI) Garda Vetted
- Valid (SI) coach licene
Job Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivery of sessions for the Age Group Squad but some coaching hours and oversight will be required with other squads to optimize your exposure, in addition there is a requirement to teach our lessons program.
- Encourage swimmers to enter competitions as per the competition calendar and advise swimmers what events to enter.
- Attendance at competitions, both locally, regional, and national as required.
- Setting swimmer targets and review quarterly with swimmers
- Regularly reviewing training and performance with the Head Coach to ensure that the training programme is always moving forwards.
- Identify talent from our ‘learn to swim’ programme’ to move into our development squads.
- To liaise, report and communicate with the Head Coach daily.
- To attend CPD sessions and keep knowledge up to date.
- Complete all administration tasks required for the smooth running of the squad.
- To assist the clubs with the running of competitions where needed
- To represent Aer Lingus Swim Club at any event that is deemed necessary by the club committee or Head Coach
The position is part time with a 1- 2-year contract which is renewed based on performance, you will operate as an independent contractor, and will invoice the club at start of each month for hours carried out the previous month.
Applicants must have a proven track record in developing swimmers and managing their own squad or groups. Experience in these areas is vital. Important to have an experienced coaching background.
