Description

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new sales for Sponsorship whilst managing these clients to ensure the renewal & growth of their business year on year.

  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, and secure new partnership opportunities
  • Managing partnerships and renewals with a selection of Brumbies Sponsors ensuring all contract deliverables are executed in a timely manner and to the highest standard
  • Working with the Head of Commercial to develop and implement strategies on how to grow the commercial revenue within the Business
  • Driving innovative thinking around commercial product offerings, services, communications, and promotions for both the Brumbies and external stakeholders
  • Manage all signage assets with partners including artwork, approvals and production
  • Manage all Game Day signage requirements for matches held at all venues including
  • Maintain all signage maps including perimeter fence, toblerone map, LED and submit all relevant files to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Coordinate all required signage and accreditation with relevant external parties
  • Fully understand and execute the Rugby Australia Super Rugby and Super W Commercial Guidelines while ensuring all Rugby Australia and Brumbies sponsor inclusions are delivered in a timely manner
  • Secure new Corporate Hospitality, Foundation and Corporate Event ticket sales
  • Providing regular reporting and insights on sales and partnership deliverables
  • Manage the Kore System ensuring all sponsorship contracts are entered accurately and all contractual deliverables are executed in a timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of sponsorship proposals and contracts
  • Assist with the preparation of sponsor end of season reports
  • Assist with the preparation, management, and distribution of the sponsor end of season survey
  • Assist with the delivery of player engagements where required
  • Other duties as required

The Business Development Manager is required to work occasional weekends and/or nights, specifically (but not limited to) at each ACT Brumbies, Super W home games and Corporate Events.

The ACT Brumbies will play seven home games in 2023 (plus up to three finals matches).

The ACT Brumbies Super W team will play 3 home games in 2023 (plus up to two finals matches).

The Business Development Manager may also need to work at other events including corporate events, trial matches, fan days and other Brumbies activations which may fall on weekends or nights.

Interstate travel may be required from time to time.

The ideal person for this role should have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a partnership management or sales role
  • Sales experience in a high-pressure environment preferred
  • Sponsorship servicing experience in a high-performance sporting environment is preferred
  • Ability to meet sales targets and KPIs
  • Track record of developing a sales pipeline & securing business through lead generation
  • A strong customer service approach and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working with a database/CRM (Salesforce preferred)
  • Experience working with Kore Software is preferred
  • A solution driven approach to conflict resolution, with the aim of delivering the best experience for our corporate and commercial partners.
  • Be willing to work out of hours as required

Desirable Criteria

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a partnership management or sales role
